Bone Specific Nutrients in Our Bone Health Supplement.
Bone health is an important issue and requires a successful long term health plan. Pro Bono Plus is a naturally effective single-serving bone building, bone retention and bone health supplement, formulated for maximum results and easy-to-use convenience. Includes calcium, strontium, vitamin D and vitamin K for healthy bones. The importance of calcium is well known and highly marketed in the United States and Europe for its role in bone health. Other important bone minerals include magnesium and manganese. Approximately 50 percent of magnesium found in the body is in the bone and often times diet alone does not supply the appropriate amounts of magnesium needed to sustain bone health. Organic flaxseed flour is also included in Pro Bono Plus giving our bone health supplement a one gram serving of alpha linolenic acid, an important omega-3 fatty acid.
The Pro Bono Plus Advantage:
•Convenience of Our Bone Health Supplement
Utilizing all the same bone building ingredients of Pro Bono, Pro Bono Plus adds 10 grams of brown rice protein per serving. Oryzatein, an excellent source of vegan, hypo-allergenic protein from non-GMO brown rice. It has excellent functional qualities and includes trace amounts of amino acids. It is well known that increased protein intake is critical for overall health and particularly beneficial for those who do not eat breakfast, are elderly or obese.
•Designed for Bone Retention
Our optimal bone health supplement is not only formulated for bone building, but also for bone retention. These two elements are critical in order to maintain healthy bones throughout the aging process.
•Comprehensive Bone Health Formulation
A synergy of crucial co-factors necessary for strong bones and comprehensive formulation of bone specific vitamins and minerals make Pro Bono Plus a dynamic approach to optimal bone health.
•Vitamin K for Bone Health
Vitamin K is required for the synthesis of osteocalcin, a bone protein integral for bone formation. Osteocalcin provides the structure and order to bone tissue; without it, bones would be fragile and easily broken. In humans, vitamin K levels fall during recovery from a fracture evidencing that this nutrient is actually drawn from the rest of the body to the site of the fracture. Vitamin K is a family of similarly structured molecules. There are a total of 3 different vitamin K molecules.
Our natural bone health supplement includes two different forms of vitamin K known as phytonedione (K1) and menaquinone (K2 as MK7). To date most of the research done on vitamin K and bone health has used K1 with positive outcomes. More recently vitamin K2 has been found to have a longer half life than K1, which means serum levels of vitamin K are more stable and longer lasting. Vitamin K2, menaquinones, are produced naturally by bacteria unlike its more popular cousin vitamin K1 which is found in greater concentrations in green leafy vegetables.
•Vitamin D for Bone Health
Vitamin D is known to be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of calcium and mineral homeostasis. Further, vitamin D is proven to support healthy bone density, an important component of strong bones. Many researchers point to an unrecognized epidemic of vitamin D deficiency among older Americans, suggesting that of those 200,000+ persons who suffer hip fractures each year, many are vitamin D deficient.
•Ipriflavone for Bone Health
Ipriflavone has also been examined in bone health research. Ipriflavone is a plant compound and is believed to slow the rate of bone loss. In one clinical research study, investigators found that women given 600 mg per day of Ipriflavone had a 6 percent increase in bone mineral density after 12 months.
•Vitamin K2 With D3 for Bone Health
The combination of vitamin K2 with vitamin D3 have been used in recent studies to promote bone health.
Lifestyle Factors for Achieving Optimal Bone Health:
1.) Optimize your intake of all essential bone building nutrients. This includes: strontium, calcium, vitamin K, vitamin D, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, manganese, copper and boron. It may be difficult to obtain the adequate amount of these nutrients essential to bone health, in accurate proportions from the foods we eat. Therefore a high-quality bone health supplement can be of great benefit.
2.) Reduce your intake of bone-damaging anti-nutrients. This includes: coffee, alcohol, soft drinks, steroids, tobacco and antibiotics. These substances strip the body from essential nutrients that are vital for bone health. An excess of any of these anti-nutrients may disrupt normal body functions and can lead to other negative, degenerative health conditions. A report documented in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine states that teenage girls who drink large quantities of soft drinks, have an increased risk of developing bone fractures and osteoporosis.
3.) Increase alkalinity in your diet by increasing fruit and vegetable intake. People whose diets contain high amounts of caffeine, simple sugars, processed foods and a lack of essential proteins, may have an increased risk of developing brittle bones. Caffeine, simple sugars, processed foods and soft drinks are known as highly acidic substances. Their acidity is measured using the pH scale (first established at the Carlsberg Laboratory in 1909). These substances have a very low pH (usually a pH of 2 to 4 or even lower) and they create an excess of metabolic acids in the body. A high amount of acidity within the body, disrupts the internal chemistry of our bones. Therefore it is essential to eat adequate amounts of alkalinizing foods. Substances with a pH greater then 7 are considered to be alkaline. Alkaline foods benefit the body by restoring alkalinity and balancing pH levels to optimal range. Watermelons, lemons, figs, almonds, asparagus and fruit/vegetable juices are all examples of alkalizing foods.
