Among the flavonoids, quercetin is one of the most biologically active. One of the best studied effects of quercetin is its ability to prevent mast cells from de-granulating during an allergic response. In preventing mast cell de-granulation, quercetin prevents the release of histamine, one of the major triggers to the overall allergic response.

•Stinging Nettles Leaf for Allergy Support
Stinging Nettles components have been shown to block important enzymes within the arachidonic acid cascade as well as having proven their effectiveness in a single ingredient clinical trial. In addition, Stinging Nettles leaf has been shown to be effective when used for hayfever.

•Bromelain for Normal Mucosal Tissue Function
Bromelain is the term used to describe a group of enzymes derived from the stem and fruit of the pineapple plant (Ananas comosus). As a plant enzyme, Bromelain has many advantages and uses as a supplemental ingredient. Bromelain has an "Approved" status by the German Commission E for micro inflammations (such as allergic reactions and localized internal infections). Other activities associated with Bromelain include inhibition of platelet aggregation, antibiotic activity and smooth muscle relaxant. In addition, bromelain has proven mucolytic properties. Therefore, bromelain supports normal mucosal tissue function and enhances the absorption of quercetin.

•N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC), a Natural Mucolytic
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is amino acid that is also a natural mucolytic. NAC breaks (reducing) the disulphide bonds in mucus of the intestines and especially the lungs, making mucus less viscous. In addition, N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is a precursor to one of the bodies most potent antioxidants, glutathione. Clinical studies have proven oral doses of NAC to be an excellent means to recharge cellular glutathione.

•Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C for Allergy Support
